Life is busy... and when planning a trip away from home and/or work you realise all the things that require daily attention, and how many tasks and activities you usually attend to and complete during a typical day. In addition to these, there may be special connections, commitments and care responsibilities relating to loved ones, family pets, and animals. 

The last thing you want while you are away on your travels is to be concerned or worried about the wellbeing of others, including your pets and animals. So too, is the importance of the secure and good care of your property and possessions, as you do not want to return to the inconvenience of costly repairs, damage or other drama that may have occurred as a result of your property being unattended.

Cancellation Policy: There will be no cancellation fee/charges for any cancellation received more than 24 hours prior to the arranged date and time of the commencement of any local (New Zealand) Private/Residential Caretaker Services, and/or Airbnb Caretaker Service Package. However, please note that any cancellation/s received less than 24 hours prior to the service commencement date and time will incur a 25% cancellation fee.

For cancellations pertaining to extended offshore Caretaker Services, please refer to the agreed Cancellation Policy as detailed in the Caretaker Contract Terms and Conditions.

         Getting things sorted...

Firstly, please get in touch to discuss your caretaker requirements, and to check my availability and suitability for the specific caretaker role and responsibilities.

An arrangement then needs to be made for me to meet the responsible person at the property concerned for a site visit.

The site visit would include a discussion of the caretaker tasks and duties to be undertaken, including any/all specific information and instructions that would ensure my Caretaker Services meet

 your needs and expectations. 

 

If relevant, this is also a great time for introductions to other family members, tenants, neighbours, and any pets or animals that would be present on the property during the caretaker service.

Including, the course of action/protocol

in an emergency, urgent need, or other unexpected event.

I'll bring along proof of identity, as well as all applicable licenses, certifications and insurance documentation.

​​Lastly, should you wish to make use of Caretaker Services, it is a requirement that the property owner or responsible person complete & submit the​ online

Caretaker Authority Form.

This important agreement encompasses the 'Caretaker Services Contract' and includes the Caretaker Services Terms and Conditions of the contract, with specific authorities and permissions.

Extended local or offshore overnight/live-in rates are available on request, and are subject to the location, duration and the scope of caretaker duties and responsibilities required.

Rates - NZD 65.00  per hour,

or part thereof (min 3 hours, same day).

Split hours on the same day/within a 24 hour period are permitted.

Full day (10 hour) rate of - NZD 465.00*

* This special discounted rate is only applicable for Private/Residential Caretaker Services.

Commonly requested Private Residential Caretaker Services may include:

  • Family/tenant assistance: Do you have a family member and/or tenant that may require assistance during your absence? Assistance with - house chores, cleaning, general maintenance, provisioning, transport to/from appointments, or simply in need of companionship in the form of a home visit, outing or day trip excursion.

  • Pet/animal care & wellbeing: Your pets/animals will be far happier and less stressed in their home environment. Daily caretaker visits help fulfill their emotional needs and include feeding, walks and playtime. You'll also save on costly boarding fees! In the event of illness/injury, I will arrange treatment at your nominated local veterinarian.

  • Property security and safeguards: Don't let an overflowing mailbox, constantly closed or drawn blinds/curtains, or a static parked vehicle advertise your absence! A lack of activity can attract inquisitive opportunists, vandalism and/or theft. A property with variable indoor and outdoor movements clearly signals the property is occupied.

  • General housekeeping and provisioning: Save yourself arriving home to a dirty, dusty house, with dead indoor plants, a fridge/pantry full of mouldy food, and a flat vehicle battery. Outside, the patio furniture, barbecue and hosepipe are missing, the lawns are overgrown, the weeds are taking over, and the swimming pool is dark green!

  

  • Scheduled maintenance and repairs: While Caretaker Services looks after many of the smaller jobs in and around your property, this is also an ideal time for supervised home maintenance and repairs including: house washing, roof/gutter repairs, painting, carpet cleaning, driveway maintenance, vehicle grooming incl. servicing and repairs.

  • Driver services: Convenient and cost effective, the Caretaker's Driver Service facilitates transfers to/from Auckland Airport or any other destination in the comfort of your own vehicle. Driving around family members or running errands/deliveries on your behalf is no problem. Best of all, your vehicle is returned/secured within your property.

  • Watercraft, sailing/motor yacht deckhand maintenance and provisioning:  If you require the jet skis, trailer boat or IRB to be towed to the workshop for maintenance and/or routine servicing, I can help with that. Or, if you have something a little larger that requires regular deckhand maintenance, cleaning and provisioning, I'm ready to roll.

  • Business continuation services: Technology permits many aspects of business to be conducted remotely. However, most service industries still depend on front line customer facing staff. If you are in need of a temporary staff member, or an interim caretaker manager/representative to oversee your business interests and 'connections', please get in touch. This 24/7 service can include sole charge open/close and lock up responsibilities, travel etc.

      Hi Mark,   

We are soon off on our travels again and will require your driver services to, and returning from Auckland Airport.

At home, the mail/parcel deliveries will need to be collected, the dogs will require their daily food and walks, the indoor plants must be watered and the aquarium kept clean  - all the usual.

Not forgetting, the cars are booked in for their scheduled maintenance, and both the house painters and carpet cleaners will require access & supervision.
